MgM dance studio not only provides a fun & friendly environment, but is also equipped with an exceptional facility designed specifically for the safety and development of our dancers. We have four studios with Marley floors, ballet barres, state of the art sound-systems, and mirrors. For our tumblers, we also have tumbling mats, octagon mats, skill cushions, and more! Stop by our studio today to check it out! Mgm Dance Studio opened its doors in the fall of 1995 with a one dance room studio and a lobby in New Freedom. Since then it has grown tremendously. It is convienently located on the Suquehanna Trail and near Route 83. It has 4 dance rooms, a play room, adult waiting room, dressing room, office, storage room and is handicapped accessible. Our dressing room has lockers and a bench for the convenience of our students.
Dance Floors
"Dance is a very physical activity that requires a lot of jumping, which can put stress on bones and joints. The best way to prevent against potential injury is by choosing a studio with a professional "floating floor". A floating floor is a dance floor that rests on a system of high-density foam, to absorb the shock of jumping.It consists of 2 layers of 1/2 " plywood on high density foam. A high density foam base is superior to a "sprung" floor which consists of a wood structure built on the regular floor. The top layer of the dance floor is also a factor. A vinyl composite "marley" floor is accepted worldwide as the best surface layer for recreational to professional dance. A marley floor allows dancers to slide with a degree of "controlled slip", but is not slippery so there is less risk of slips and falls. "
